Eight days, one rented car, the whole loop. We drove slowly and stopped a lot. We got rained on most days and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
I brought one lens. I’d been going back and forth for weeks between the 35mm and a zoom, and in the end I decided the constraint would do me good. It did. You can’t zoom to a waterfall from the road; you walk closer. And sometimes you can’t walk closer, and so you frame it smaller in the landscape, which is probably the honest photo anyway.
We stopped at a lot of small coffee places. I am convinced Iceland runs on coffee and wool. I came home with more of both than I expected.
